Historic Wakefield ChapelIn 1984, charter members of Bible Fellowship Church met and prayed for direction, seeking to know God's will for them. Following three prayer sessions, approximately 70 people felt God’s calling to establish a new ministry.

With Duane Gilbert at the helm of the Steering Committee, on September 2, 1984, 67 people attended the first formal church service in the basement of Steve and Christa Gruber’s home. The early goals of this new ministry were to honor the Lord, preach the Word, and minister to the needs of the people.

Finding a truly beautiful and historical meeting spot seemed to come so easily. On September 9, 1984 the church body found themselves worshiping at the Zion Wakefield Chapel, located just down the drive from our current church building. Contacts were then made with pastors and colleges, and the Lord once again provided by sending qualified teachers to fill the pulpit. The following weeks brought Pastor and Mrs. Donald Parvin from Cedarville College, who served as Interim Pastor for many months.
