On January 6, 1985, after much prayer and dedication by the Steering Committee, a Constitution was approved.

On that cold winter day, approximately 65 adults and 21 young people signed the Charter of Organization.

A Deacon Board was voted upon and their first meeting took place on February 7, 1985.

Members of that first elected board included Mark Averitt, Bill Seal, Gaylen Blosser, Weldon Hotmire, Keith Wick, and Bob Zumbrun.

In addition to forming committees, they began the serious task of searching for a full-time pastor.
